Come along to launch Campbelltown's City Council's newest Bushcare Group! The Smiths Creek Bushcare Group has been formed as part of the “Improving Urban Koala Habitat Linkages and Community Stewardship - Smiths Creek” grant project through Greater Sydney Local Land Services’ Catchment Action Funding Program. On the day volunteers will take part in watering and maintaining previously planted koala food trees (national tree day 2015) and take an educational nature walk along sealed trails within the reserve to discuss localised impacts to bush land and ongoing bush regeneration works whilst collecting small amounts of rubbish from the reserve so it does not enter our waterways. Fingers crossed we may even spot one of our furry Koala friends!
Note that as this is the first working day an approximately 30 minute induction will be undertaken prior to works at approximately 9:15am.
If all participants could please RSVP by the 10th September 2015 to Council's Environmental Project Officer Mitchell Clark on 4645 4501 or via email firstname.lastname@example.org so as that we can organise induction packs and morning tea.
Look forward to seeing you all there!
What to bring
All volunteers wishing to participate in the Smiths Creek Bushcare Group are to wear enclosed and sturdy footwear, long sleeves and pants, a hat (preferably broad brimmed) and bring a bottle of water.
