The Natural History Society of South Australia manages and maintains Moorunde Wildlife Reserve, a 7,000 hectare sanctuary for Southern Hairy-nosed Wombats in the Murraylands of South Australia. We are a not-for-profit organisation and run completely on volunteer effort. Visitors are welcome to come and see the reserve and learn about our restoration of wombat habitat. Volunteer activities may include weeding, native-grass revegetation projects (erecting exclosure fences, planting tube stock), track repairs and other miscellaneous property maintenance jobs. Our primarily requirement is enthusiasm and an interest in the conservation and rehabilitation of our natural environment! Come along and help us protect and preserve the habitat of the Hairy-nosed Wombat, faunal emblem of South Australia!
